Pitchcare works with a network of training providers throughout the UK, through which we can offer individuals and groups the full range of Lantra Awards courses including pesticide application, safe use of machinery (mowers, tractors, chainsaws, brushcutters and other forestry equipment), Health and Safety, First Aid. Check out the LANTRA AWARDS website to identify the course, and the nearest training provider most suitable for you at www.lantra-awards.co.uk

In addition, we run Pitchcare branded 1-day courses on pitch preparation, maintenance and renovation led by our own team of experts. To register your interest, e-mail chris@pitchcare.com.

For groups (usually a minimum of 4) we can provide a qualified instructor and deliver training at your premises, so long as suitable equipment and facilities are available. If they are not, we can often use local Pitchcare associate’s facilities. LANTRA / NPTC qualification is available; alternatively in many cases we can provide a Pitchcare Certificate of Attendance, which provides candidates with evidence that they have received training to the required standard of proficiency to meet current H&S and insurance requirements.

Price Guide
Groups
We welcome the opportunity to quote on a day rate basis for groups of 4 and upwards. Prices vary according to topic, provider and region, and whether training takes place at the client’s premises or those of a Pitchcare associate, so it is difficult to generalise. However, a very rough guide would be £350-£500 per day.

In addition to the mechanical and practical courses, we can provide Management Training tailor-made for Head Groundsmen, Head Greenkeepers, Course Managers and others with responsibility for groundwork teams. As an example, our Essential Management Skills course scheduled for 2 days this winter is £345.00 per delegate.

EMS - Management Course for Head Groundsmen, Head Greenkeepers and their Deputies

We shall be repeating our successful "Essential Management Skills" course again this Autumn, delivered by trainer and careers counsellor Frank Newberry.

The dates and venue are:

30 Oct/5 Feb - St Albans School

Frank, a regular contributor to the Pitchcare magazine, has trained groundsmen and greenkeepers for more than 15 years. This course is aimed at helping those in a supervisory or management position to acquire a range of vital management skills and successfully implement them in the workplace.

Unlike generic management training, Pitchcare’s course has been developed specifically to suit groundsmen and greenkeepers. Three months separate the two days so delegates have the opportunity to implement new techniques and then feed their experiences back to the group.

Five CPD Credits will be awarded to delegates who complete the course. To register your interest for future dates, please contact Pitchcare’s Training Coordinator Christine Johnson at chris@pitchcare.com.
