Oakley's Groundcare has won a £500,000 contract for Hayter mowers and other equipment from Vale Royal Borough Council. The five year contract hire deal was won in a formal tender and is Oakley's first major contract with Vale Royal. It includes eight LT324 triple turf mowers and two R324T high output rotary mowers.
The tender included extensive quality submissions as well as price and the Hayter equipment scored highly on reliability, running costs and the testimonials of a number of experienced users. Additionally, competitors submitted equipment for comparative trial. Vale Royal will service and maintain the mowers with a comprehensive spares support system from Oakley's.
Vale Royal's Streetcare Manager, Russell Washburn says "Having the best new equipment and hands on control over the maintenance gives us the best of both worlds. As well as all the Borough Council's areas we have the contract for the verges from Cheshire County Council and the open spaces contract from Weaver Vale Housing Trust. This will enable us to deliver a consistent standard of top environmental quality across the borough. Hayter's training has been extremely impressive and our operators are very enthusiastic. The after sales support from Oakley's continues to be excellent and confirms that our decision was the right one."
