Aberdeen City Council add to fleet for new Grounds Care Seaon

Aberdeen has a wide range of beautiful and interesting parks and green spaces with the best of these equal to any in the UK. They are a key contributor to the quality of life within the area and that's why the City Council has returned to local grounds care dealer, Fairways GM, for their latest tranche of equipment.

They have added a further three new Ransomes ride-on triple mowers to their grounds maintenance fleet for the coming season and now have 25 similar machines in use across the City. They will be used to maintain sports pitches, public parks and the esplanades along the beach fronts.

For the wider grassed areas the Parks & Countryside department are using Ransomes hydraulic gang mowers and for the finer turfed areas such as bowling greens and tennis courts they are using a selection of walk-behind mowers, also from the Ransomes brand.

Commenting at the recent handover of the new triples, Fleet Manager Nigel Buchan said, "We are committed users of Ransomes equipment and will always use Best Value as the driver for our purchasing decisions. We keep our fleet as young as possible which gives us the capacity to maintain our grounds maintenance schedule throughout the season. With high profile green spaces within the City such as Duthie Park, Hazelhead Park, Victoria Park, Westburn Park and Seaton Park plus the beachfront areas it is important that they reflect the importance placed by the Council on recreational facilities here."
