Agronomic Services launches Oxy-Rush, a revolutionary soil stimulant that provides an abundance of oxygen, accelerating the activity of beneficial microbes in the soil

By greatly increasing the parts per million (PPM) of oxygen in a non hazardous, liquid form, Oxy-Rush acts as a catalyst, stimulating aerobic bacteria which helps reduce Black Layer, Algae and Anaerobic conditions. An effective thatch and compaction reducer, Oxy-Rush, by increasing the soil O2 levels and therefore the population of beneficial microbes, improves soil structure, rooting and nutrient availability.

Trials on a number of golf courses and sports pitches this year in the UK and Holland have seen excellent results with this unique product. Oxy-Rush, which greatly enhances all aeration practises can be sprayed onto turf or soil three to four times per year during the growing season. Applied either on its own or tank mixed with other compatible liquids designed to work in the top four inches of soil, Oxy-Rush is suitable for use in all sports turf growing situations.

By aerating you increase soil gas exchange allowing more oxygen into your roootzone which in turn benefits any beneficial microbes you have, improves soil structure, rooting and nutrient availability, decompacts your soil and reduces thatch and will eliminate black layer and anerobic conditions.OR You can apply 4 applications of oxygen in a bottle and get the same result. Is it the 1st April today????

This is sound science. It is obviously liquid oxygen. You can tell by the blue colour. The only problem i can see is storing it and spraying it at -183 degrees C so that it doesn't evaporate.
Reminds me of other products such as "Thatch-Away" (all that time i wasted scarifying!) and the beneficial soil microbe (unfortunately killed by light, so can only assume the instructions suggest night use only) sprays.
Assuming this product is meant as a kick-start type feed for beneficial bacterial and fungal growth, could i suggest that the same effect could be had be tipping beer dregs or even peeing on the turf. Cheaper too.
Unless the manufacturers coud explain otherwise.......

Hi to you both, If I can comment on iantom's response first. I could not agree with you more with reference to aeration, it is vital and does all what you say. However I'm sure you have seen lots of golf greens & pitches which have undergone rigorous forms of aeration, and still have problems with black layer, Algae, thatch build up, etc. This product complements aeration, not replace. After 5-6 months of wet weather there is very little oxygen in the rootzone. So, by applying this product with a soil penetrant you move water through the profile, and speed up the aeration process, enabling improved gas exchange. As always communicating via email is impersonal and limiting, I would every much welcome a direct conversation with you to discuss further. Regards David

To comment on your thoughts Andy, The product has unlimited storage life, but will crystallize if frozen, and is best applied with high water volumes (lightly watered in) and applied with a small amount of penetrating wetter to get it into the rootzone. There are no bugs in the jug! Just a support process / catalyst to increase beneficial microbes. Healthy skepticism is good, if you don't have any problems on your surfaces that's great.
However, if you do, I would love the opportunity to show you how the product can work.
I'm not sure if the members would be to happy if you got all the greenkeeping staff to pee on the greens, you may have to put a sign up, "please don't lick your balls"!
Call me if you are serious in discussing this further. Regards

Product info for registration

OxyRush - is the same as Symbio Liquid Oxygen and similar to the Soil Harmony product OxyMax 0-8.

These materials / products do work extremely well but like all product needs to be applied with a full understanding of its mechanism.

Remember that if a soil is low in oxygen there will be a low number of aerobic microbes respiring on the available oxygen in the soil. Increasing O2 will increase their ability to respire and multiply (assuming that they have adequate food available).
This is good, one may think.
However, the quicker the microbes respire the quicker they consume available oxygen the quicker the soil becomes anaerobic!!!

I may be wrong Mr. Snowden so perhaps you could issue the trail results from Holland and the UK from this 'Not So Unique' product, that way the proof will be there for all to see and prevent the usual wizardry associated with many products out here in the turfgrass market.

One good thing about the same product being sold by several companies is that the cost becomes more competitive and accessible to everyone

Jolly Wishes for all and everyone for Christmas and 2010....

IGS, you seem to think you are well informed, would you be kind enough to call me direct so i can bring you up to speed..
Thanks

David,

I would rather you publish the trial results to substantiate the claims that are stated:-
"Trials on a number of golf courses and sports pitches this year in the UK and Holland have seen excellent results with this unique product"

I would also be grateful to know how Oxy-Rush can be an effective thatch and compaction reducer.

I agree IGS.
David, it seems strange that you want to have 'personal chats' about this product when you have been given the perfect platform to advertise it's merits.
Unfortunately, however you will have to substantiate them first.
Preferentially with a scientific explanation and some quantifiable test results.
As you say, "After 5-6 months of wet weather there is very little oxygen in the rootzone. So, by applying this product with a soil penetrant you move water through the profile, and speed up the aeration process, enabling improved gas exchange"
So, you are saying that the penetrant/wetting agent increases infiltration, percolation and drainage rates, effectively drawing oxygen into the soil. A well known effect, particularly used in USGA spec greens and hydroponics. No mention of how the product itself helps thoughi, just the wetting agent.
However, the "support process / catalyst to increase beneficial microbes" sounds of interest and i would like to hear further details. Please feel free to reply on here where everyone can get involved in the discussion.
