Andy Anderson, who took over as Head Greenkeeper at Driffield Golf Club in December 2009, has been receiving plaudits for his work at the club from far and wide.

Club chairman, Paul Fryer said: "Andy has made a great impression in his first season in charge and we have had a great deal of favourable comments from both members and visitors about the state of the course in general, and about the greens in particular which have been superb."

The chairman of a Cumbrian Golf Club who played in the golf day held by the RABI, farming's national charity, wrote to the club secretary. he said: "I must say that I was most impressed with Driffield Golf Club. The reception and clubhouse facilities were first class.

"Of course, the highlight on a very enjoyable day was the excellent condition of the course. The greens were very good, true and consistent and the layout of the course was immaculate.
