A top Greenkeeper should be receiving a salary of £43,000 plus and a top Groundsman around £35,000 according to the recommended pay scales of two of the sports turf industry's main advisory bodies.

At the recent BTME show I managed to catch up with Simon Hutton, Director of Fineturf, when he visited the Pitchcare Internet cafe. Fineturf is a Lincolnshire company, based in Grantham, which Simon started himself when he was 18. It all began when he was working as a greenkeeper at the family’s golf course. More Inside.
