A revolution for Turf Mixtures from Johnson’s

We have had a real mixture revolution in the Johnson’s range for 2007. Using a combination of experience and technical trials from DLF Trifolium Ltd, we have radically re-formulated several of the blends. Most people design mixtures with a general application in mind, where they are not sure of the soil types, use and management a mixture will receive. The blends therefore have to be a compromise and able to adapt to the many variables. Not so for Johnson’s.

Mixtures from DLF Trifolium have helped produce best results ever at both Sheffield Wednesday main ground and the training ground. Steven Kiddy, head groundsman at Sheffield Wednesday, used the Johnsons Pitchmaster mixture at the main ground and the DLF Pro Range at the training grounds.
End of season renovation work at Leicester CCC

After a long cricket season, work began two weeks ago preparing the practice areas at Leicester County Cricket Club for re-seeding. The ground was scarified and re-sown with an all ryegrass mixture; 50% Evita/50% Margarita, supplied by DLF Trifolium Ltd. The germination was quick and uniform as can be seen from the pictures.

Significant improvements in tall fescue cultivars together with the interest in more drought tolerant species, has resulted in DLF Trifolium putting a range of new formulations into trial. The new mixtures, to be sown this autumn, will assess the best formulations for the future and will be available for all customers and interested parties to visit, alongside other landscape, wildflower and sports turf demonstration trials.
