Bristol City Football Club has played at Ashton Gate for over a century. Now, a new stadium is planned, which has led to Bristol being nominated as a host city in England�s 2018 World Cup bid. Head Groundsman, Craig Richardson, talks about the challenges he faces ensuring the pitches at the old stadium and the very exposed training grounds are fit for play, and outlines his wish list for the new stadium

As with most league football clubs Bristol City are always trying to maximise the use of their stadium. For the last three-years we have held concerts in June, which in most cases brings additional responsibilities for me. Especially as it involves covering the whole pitch for several days during the summer growing periods.
