Award-winning school garden is officially opened

ENVIRONMENTALLY-friendly company Dunweedin' has helped a school boost its 'green' credentials.

The company donated mountains of its playgrade 'recycled' rubber chippings to create a special garden at Kingsmead Primary School, in Northwich, Cheshire.

The project has been such a success that it even achieved a building and sustainability award from the Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Bob Jones, from Dunweedin' based in Cheshire, said: "We used two tonnes of recycled scrap tyres - which was used to create landscaping and play areas for pupils.

"Recycling is now at the forefront of everyone's minds and garden products are no exception! Dunweedin' has a playgrade rubber chipping range which allows authorities to be environmentally friendly without compromising on quality."

The school garden was officially opened this summer.

Headteacher Catriona Stewart said: "Colourful rubber chippings, made from recycled tyres, have been used to landscape the gardens. It's a great idea because rubber is a natural and everlasting material which is kind to both children and plants!"
