With enormous regret BLEC Landscaping Equipment Company Ltd has to announce that the company has gone into administration.

Gary and Sue Mumby started BLEC in 1986 and have over the last 22 years built the company into a worldwide enterprise, supplying machines across the globe. At its peak, the company employed fifty people and the premises at Deeping St. James, Nr Peterborough was expanded to accommodate new office and manufacturing facilities.

However, since early 2008, the company has suffered a series of blows, including a severe downturn in orders from Europe and particularly the United States, coupled with the appalling weather effecting UK sales of their large range of landscaping equipment.

The thirty five members of staff have been laid off and the premises are now closed.

Gary and Sue would like to thank all of their distributors, customers and suppliers who have shown their continued support for Blec products over the years and hope that the future brings a more positive outcome for everyone struggling in today's difficult climate.

Very unfortunate, but probably not a surprise in the current financial climate. Probaby wont be the last company in this industry to go this way unfortunately either.

Very sad news indeed. My thoughts are with Gary, Sue and all the Blec employees at this difficult time.

echo above, a shame when you have a company that is so helpful and a true supporter of the industry.

To reiterate the comments above, we were devastated to hear this sad news.
The Mumby's have produced a range of fantastic equipment that many, many people have been able to use to improve the way that they worked.
It will be a great loss to the turf and landscape Industries if this equipment is to be lost forever.
Good luck and best wishes to you both Gary and Sue.
