Blues ( Birmingham City FC) are making sure that their promotion bid is not undermined by the state of the St Andrew's pitch - by turning it into Wembley.

The club are to spend around £120,000 relaying the playing surface in the New Year.

They have contracted leading specialists who are to install Wembley's 'spare' pitch on January 7.

The grass for the £757million national stadium was laid in June and supplier Inturf have another pitch growing at one of their turf farms in Lincolnshire in case of emergencies.
