Boost for Turf Irrigation training

The British Turf and Landscape Irrigation Association (BTLIA) has used its forum at the National Turfgrass Foundation (NTF) Conference (Southport, Tuesday 30th November) to announce changes to its Diploma in Turf Irrigation.

"The new five week programme can now be taken one week at a time," explained BTMIA secretary Martyn Jones. "The first two weeks are tailored more to the end user of irrigation to help them audit the performance of their own systems. The focus is on basic water, soil, agronomy and system efficiency issues and leads to the Certificate in Turf Irrigation.

"The course content for the remaining three weeks is pitched more at professional designers and installers of turf irrigation systems and leads to Intermediate and Full Diplomas. Delegates will learn more about designing efficient systems, as well as specification writing and overall contract or project management," he said.

The first week of the programme commences on 21st February 2005 at Garstang Golf & Country Club.

Further information on dates and locations for the remaining four weeks of the course are available from Martyn Jones on 01995 670675.
