SISIS , Aitkens and Vitax joined together to present "Autumn Maintenance on the Bowling Green", a seminar and demonstration day at North Hykeham Bowling Club, Lincolnshire.

On a warm and sunny September day, 110 keen bowling green groundsmen enjoyed a comprehensive machinery demonstration on the green. SISIS turf maintenance machinery included the Dart aerator, the new Auto-Rotorake Mk5 scarifier, and established favourite the Trulevel bowling green roller.

After a buffet lunch there were presentations by Aitkens and Vitax covering disease recognition and treatment, and fertilizer management.

The day concluded with a "Turf Clinic" to help with specific problems.

SISIS, Aitkens and Vitax would like to thank the staff of North Hykeham Bowling Club for coping so well with the large attendance.

Three more seminars have been arranged see below for details:- "Autumn Maintenance on the Bowling Green" in the South East

A series of seminar/demonstration days, presented by SISIS, Avoncrop, Barenbrug, Scotts and Syngenta, will be held on 25th, 26th and 27th September in Sittingbourne, Kent, Cranleigh, Surrey and Buxted, E.Sussex. There are still a few places available, and there is no charge for attendance. Please ring Jane Bayley on 01625 503030 or e-mail publicity@sisis.com for details.

While this is a very worthwhile and most enlighting i don't ever see any demos in Scotland. There are a lot of clubs iam sure would take up your demos invite if one were available up here. I personally am involved with Linlithgow B. C. just outside Edinburgh, where ex English International
&Commonwealth medalist Gary Smith as one of its members. We are always on the lookout for ways to improve our green and any help at all would be welcome.

Kind Regards
Arthur Mackay
