Just over 12 months ago Bradford and & Bingley’s sports complex was under water following the worst flooding in the Aire Valley for some 30 years.
It was a frustrating time for the Bradford League’s only full-time professional groundsman, but Paul Markham came through this difficult spell and has enjoyed a much less eventful winter this time.

WOW that was Christmas that was?
It is a long time since I last wrote but I have lots to tell. I don't know whether I am getting old or not but the magic of the festive fixtures seems to pass me by these days.
I must admit that I had three days off in a row over Christmas. Someone who puts together the fixture lists must have decided that Old Trafford had hosted that many games already that we deserved a break!

The training facility at Chigwell saw the construction of three root zone pitches in 1998, which provide the first team squad with top quality surfaces to train on. We are currently mowing these pitches three times per week using a five unit fairways mower and also a 36” Ransomes Mastiff, dependant on the weather, usage and time. All of the training ground pitches are cut at 28mm.
