Just over 12 months ago Bradford and & Bingley’s sports complex was under water following the worst flooding in the Aire Valley for some 30 years.
It was a frustrating time for the Bradford League’s only full-time professional groundsman, but Paul Markham came through this difficult spell and has enjoyed a much less eventful winter this time.

Richard is Groundsman at the former Yorkshire venue Park Avenue, which is now used a centre of excellence for the Leeds-Bradford universities.
His latest work has been designed to improve the drainage on the outfield

Keith Boyce makes welcome return

When he retired as cricket groundsman, Keith continued to look after the adjoining the rugby league pitch at Headingley.

Final renovations at Edgebaston

Over the last two weeks the square at Edgebaston has been top dressed again, with about four tonnes of Ongar loam being hand spread on eighteen of the wickets. We worked this latest top dressing in to the new grasses with lutes to finish readdressing our levels for this year. - Read Article

The entire field of play at the MCC is sat on thick, virtually impermeable London clay and for many years has caused heartache and headaches for myself and my team. The old clay pipe drainage system has long since silted up so over the last few years some additional plastic perforated drainage pipes have been added. - Read Article
