On a recent trip to Yorkshire I took the opportunity to call in on Anthony Asquith, or AA as he is affectionately known on our Pitchcare Website. Anthony, former Head Groundsman at Chapel Allerton Tennis Club has begun a new career working for Yorkshire CCC at their new Academy sports ground at Weetwood. The site provides 18 cricket pitches for play.

Tonbridge School in Kent has a reputation for producing good cricketers and quality cricket pitches. One of the most famous pupils of this 450 year old public school is Colin Cowdrey, of Kent and England fame, who boarded there between 1946 and 1951.

Bryan employs six groundstaff, two of them women, Jackie and Sarah. The girl on the roller, Jackie, turned out to be Bryan’s daughter and she has been working at the college for eight years.
