The world of showbiz answers Sven's call to

sign England's giant World Cup flag

What do celebrities such as Davina McCall, Bob Mortimer, Johnny Vaughan and Bobby Robson have in common? They have all answered England coach Sven Goran Eriksson's call to action and offered David Beckham and the England team a message of support on the Come On England Flag.

The flag, which is an initiative of The Football Association and England team sponsor Nationwide Building Society, will travel out to Japan with up to a million signatures to support the team in their bid for World Cup glory in just under two months.

Messages of support from the celebrity world include: "Good luck to our team, may you be blessed with fancy footwork, and the spirit of all the Greek gods. Big Lovin", from Liza Tarbuck; "Do Good. Kick ball hard" from the incomparable Bob Mortimer; Davina McCall's "Come on lads, Sven's the man. Feel the force. We're all behind you every step of the way"; Bobby Robson's "We wish you the very best of British luck"; and never short of a few words, Johnny Vaughan's "Don't want to put any pressure on you, but you carry the hopes, dreams and future happiness of 50 million people. Good luck lads!"

It could not be easier for England supporters wanting to follow the example of Sven and the celebrities, as they simply need to visit www.TheFA.com/flag and offer a short good luck message. Fans wanting to ensure that their names are printed on the back of the flag before it leaves for the Far East in May, are advised to add their messages as soon as possible.
