Vandals badly damaged Keyworth's cricket square ahead of a Bank Holiday fund-raising match.
Keyworth Cricket Club's first team game against Gotham had to be moved to Clifton after the damage was found on Saturday morning.
Most of the pitch had been dug up, leaving just divots and craters and rendering it unplayable.
But thanks to the help of the community, the pitch was repaired on Sunday and the club's charity fund-raising match for its under-12s team went ahead yesterday.
Chairman Richard Drury said: "On Saturday morning the groundsman found it looking like a complete bombsite. It is really disappointing in this day and age. It looked a bit like a golf fairway with massive divots."
