In a major move by one of Britain's leading sports and amenity contractors, Complete Weed Control (CWC) has opened a second administrative hub to further consolidate its Scotland and northern counties operations.

Based in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, the new regional office will help CWC strengthen support and communications with its public and private sector customers, in addition to being the base for CWC's new marketing initiatives.

CWC had been coordinating its 50-strong franchisee network from head offices near Cheltenham, which will continue to provide the required support services as previously.

The initiative by CWC, which has more than 35 years' experience of offering a specialist contract service to public and private sector amenity, sports, leisure and industrial sites, was a significant step forward, said technical director Alan Abel.

"Our contractor programme continues to expand strongly throughout Britain and we believed the time was right to develop our corporate presence in the north, enabling us to fully serve the needs and expectations of our marketplace."

"Two fully functioning regional headquarters will allow us to deal more effectively with the day to day running of what is a complex business."
