A raft of new council budget cuts could lead the district needing to change its image to 'Mucky Valley'.

The cuts, which aim to make savings of £300,000, come from a wide range of services, but mainly those which keep the district looking presentable, including street cleaning, pest control and dog waste enforcement.

The cuts will be debated at next week's executive meeting where councillors will make the decision to accept, reject or modify the recommendations. One such example given was a reduction in Parks Budgets

£30,000 from the "rationalisation" of the duties of the Parks Groundsman, a review of planting schemes, a reduction in pitch maintenance and seasonal litter picks
