E-Z-GO has donated a Shuttle 2 people carrier to The Suffolk Punch Trust, a registered charity based at Hollesley Bay on the Suffolk coast.
The vehicle, supplied by Ransomes Jacobsen, the UK distributor of E-Z-GO products, is based on the successful RXV golf car platform, and can carry four people including the driver. The two rear facing seats can be folded to provide a load carrying platform, which also enables the staff at the Trust to move equipment and stores around the 200-acre site.
The Suffolk Punch Trust was formed in 2002 and is home to endangered Suffolk Horses as well as other rare native breeds and a collection of retired racehorses. It is governed by a Board of Trustees and managed by a dedicated site management team. Having raised £2 million to purchase the facility, it is currently in its second year as a working stud farm, The Hollesley Bay Colony Stud, and is open to the general public.
The Chairman of the Suffolk Punch Trust, Philip Ryder-Davies commenting at the handover of the Shuttle 2 said, "The stud is 200 acres in size and it is often difficult for our less mobile visitors to see all the animals and attractions which are spread over a wide area. The Shuttle makes it possible for all our visitors to enjoy the whole farm - this project is about preserving the unique history of Suffolk and making it available to as many people as possible. Ransomes Jacobsen and E-Z-GO have been a huge source of support as we simply would not have had the resources to buy such an excellent piece of equipment ourselves."
