In spite of the slowdown in the economy, European manufacturer Etesia is bucking the trend and expanding its nationwide dealer network.

Etesia's UK General Manager, Les Malin explains, "The recession is already showing signs of leveling out - our intention is to be well placed to meet the challenge of new growth once the current difficult times are over. We have a number of really sales-motivated new dealers who have already made a substantial contribution to our turnover this year."

In strengthening their UK coverage, eight sales and service territories have been created for outlets to promote Etesia's range of professional ride-on and pedestrian rotary mowers plus Attila brushcutters.

In the south-west of England, new dealer, Taunton-based Bigwood &Partners was off to a flying start, gaining good orders in the Somerset region. Further north, H Curtis & Partners of Bristol have been successfully working the territory surrounding the junction of the M4 and M5 motorways.

New dealers, E Buckland of Gloucester and Hereford Mower Services now cover Gloucestershire and Herefordshire respectively; whilst in North Wales the well-established Morris Lawnmower Centre has taken over an existing sales area in the Denbigh region.

Etesia have appointed Wyvern Garden Services to cover the Shrewsbury area, and in the south of England, Surrey Power of Esher now promotes and sells the brand.

The new professional dealer for Norfolk is Felthorpe Lawnmower Services who like all Etesia outlets, offers free on site demonstrations to professional end users. They are based just outside Norwich.

In addition to new appointments, the roles of two existing dealers have been re-defined - former sub-dealer Arun Mowers of Arundel in West Sussex has become a main Etesia dealer; whilst in the north of England, Yorkshire-based K & M Mowers goes from strength to strength with an expanded sales territory to include Leeds as well as East and West Yorkshire.

In summary, Les Malin says, "As the demand for our product range continues to grow, so we need to ensure that there is continuity of sales and service coverage across the whole of the UK."
