A Volunteer greenkeeper has suffered bruising after being run over by a golf buggy at Pelican Waters Golf Club.

The man, whose age was not known, was tending the green of the sixth hole at 11.14am when he was struck by the reversing vehicle.

Firefighters, ambulance and police were called.

Emergency services got access to the injured man via Elimbah Circuit.

Police said the man was run over by the vehicle.

A Department of Community Safety spokeswoman said the man was alert and walking around when emergency services arrived.

He was first taken to Caloundra Hospital, but was later transferred to Nambour General Hospital.
