Harrogate Week 2006 to deliver outstanding training

The GTC is encouraging greenkeepers and their employers to get the most out of Harrogate Week 2005, including an impressive education programme.
Harrogate Week (commencing 22 January 2006) is the place to be to discover new and innovative ideas. It has an outstanding training, workshop and seminar programme, which the GTC is supporting. There is also a careers fair, job shop and forums running throughout the week.
David Golding, GTC education director, said: "We are delighted to be supporting the education element of Harrogate Week. Whilst people might think that the BIGGA turf management exhibition and education programme is just for greenkeepers, I would recommend that employers consider attending because there are many workshops and seminars to benefit from."
These include a series of seminars on Wednesday, 25 January based on Working Together in Golf Club Management. These will be delivered jointly by the English Golf Union and the Association of Golf Club Secretaries.
The R&A's Golf Committee, in association with BIGGA, will host a seminar on Thursday, 26 January called Maintaining the Sustainable Golf Course.
An afternoon of presentations will be followed by an open debate on Friday, 27 January.
David added: "The English, Scottish and Welsh Golf Unions, the R&A and BIGGA are all represented on the GTC. We look forward to welcoming greenkeepers and employer representatives on to the GTC stand during the exhibition."
