When your business is growing top quality turf the quality and cost-efficiency of the mowing are vital. Stewartsturf, Scotland's biggest turf grower have developed a unique solution based on the Hayter TM749 trailed gang mower.
The solution was to devise a way, using a specially made accumulator frame, of drawing two Hayter gang mowers in tandem. This gives enormous cutting capacity - according to Stewartsturf director Duncan Forbes they recently timed cutting a 20 acre area in just 15 minutes.
Stewartsturf provides several types of turf for golf greens, tees, sports pitches including winter sports, all kinds of local authority work and domestic gardens. The company grows 800 acres on three sites and the Hayter equipment is currently on the largest site at Kinross.
"We chose Hayter for this development because we know them to be extremely robust" says Duncan, "and the quality of the cut is very important. In the height of the season we are mowing three times a week and the Hayter equipment gives us the quality and reliability we need."
