AZ Tech of Vienna, Ransomes Jacobsen's distributor for Austria, has supplied a Jacobsen Tri-King ride-on triple mower for maintaining the sports surface at the Wörthersee Stadium, a venue used for the Euro 2008 football championships and located on the outskirts of the city of Klagenfurt, close to the banks of Lake Wörthersee.
The 32,000 seat Wörthersee Stadion is a compact stadium, similar in design to St Jakob Park in Basel, Switzerland and due to its distinctive shape is affectionately known as the 'UFO' by the people of Klagenfurt. Constructed as a multi-use stadium, it is the home ground of Austrian football club, FC Kärnten.
Thomas Reiter of AZ Tech commented, "The Jacobsen Tri-King is the mower of choice for many football clubs across Europe and has been used at major sporting events such as the FIFA World Cup and the Olympic Games for many years. It has the ideal width of cut for stadium pitch preparation and can collect the grass clippings."
