Two Jacobsen LF-3800 light fairway mowers, supplied by Fairways GM, Ransomes Jacobsen local dealer for the region, are helping to maintain the playing surfaces in superb condition at Haggs Castle Golf Club. Ransomes Jacobsen is a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company.

Situated in wooded parkland just a few minutes drive from the city of Glasgow, Haggs Castle is a popular club and boasts over a 1,000 members. It was the venue for the first Scottish Bells Open Championship in 1986.

Robert McLerie has been the Course Manager for the past 10 years and heads a team of eight greenkeeping staff. "We were so impressed with our first LF3800 that we purchased a second one this season," he said.

With so many members, Haggs Castle is a busy course and it's imperative to prepare the course with minimal disruption to them. Robert likes to keep ahead of the golfers and two fairway machines allow him to do this.

"I can cut all 18 fairways in just three hours," he added, "The light footprint, width of cut, excellent output, ease of set up and backlapping are all major pluses for this machine. Add to that the operator comfort with the Mauser cabs and its no surprise that we ordered a second machine!"

Textron is known around the world for its powerful brands such as Bell Helicopter, Cessna Aircraft, Jacobsen, Kautex, Lycoming, E-Z-GO and Greenlee, among others. More information is available at www.textron.com.
