John Deere has been named the official equipment sponsor of the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, by the World Games 2010 Foundation. The Games will be held from September 25 to October 10, 2010 in Lexington, Kentucky, USA.
"On behalf of the Fédération Equestre Internationale, we are pleased to have John Deere partnering with our sport as the official equipment provider of the 2010 Games," said Her Royal Highness Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein of Jordan, chairing a recent FEI meeting in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
"Our goal has always been to partner with the top global brands in each sponsorship category," added John Long, chairman of the World Games 2010 Foundation and CEO of the United States Equestrian Federation. "Having the strength of the John Deere brand behind our event is tremendously exciting for us."
John Deere will also support many pre-event elements and serve as the title sponsor of the Reining competition during the 2010 Games. In addition, the company will be partner to many equine industry associations and events including the Breeders' Cup, the National Thoroughbred Racing Association and the American Quarter Horse Association.
The Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games are the world championships of eight equestrian disciplines recognized by the FEI, and are held every four years. The Games have never before been held outside Europe, nor have all eight disciplines competed at a single site - both firsts that will be achieved at the Kentucky Horse Park in 2010.
This new sponsorship agreement follows John Deere's five year deal in the UK to become the official supplier of utility tractors to Jockey Club Racecourses, the country's largest racecourse group, which has recently been extended to include all groundscare equipment. The group stages many of the country's most iconic races and events, including the Grand National and The Cheltenham Festival, as well as four of the five Flat classics, and manages tracks from Exeter in the south to Carlisle in the north.
John Deere manufactures a range of quality machines for the equine market, sold through specialist dealers. The product range includes large utility and compact tractors, front loaders and attachments, Gator utility vehicles, arena rakes and a variety of walk-behind and ride-on mowers designed for reliability, efficiency and high productivity.
