John Quinton has been appointed Regional Sales Manager at Ransomes Jacobsen, the Ipswich-based turf maintenance equipment manufacturer, with immediate effect. Reporting to UK and Ireland Sales Manager, Rupert Price, he will be responsible for business development, equipment sales and dealer support across his territory which includes the southwest and northwest of England and all of Wales.

For the past four years he held the position of Territory Manager West with Hayter Ltd, the domestic and commercial mower manufacturer, based at Spellbrook in Hertfordshire. Prior to this he spent a year as Sales Manager with RS Bird, Ransomes Jacobsen's former turf dealer in south Wales, and three years as Machinery Manager with Glendale, based in Preston.

Before coming to the United Kingdom he farmed arable crops in his native country, Zimbabwe. John is a graduate of Harper Adams University College in Shropshire where he gained a HND in agricultural engineering. He lives in Monmouth with his wife Victoria and their two daughters, Sophie aged 5 and three year old Emma.

Commenting on his appointment Rupert Price said, "We are obviously delighted that John has joined us at this exciting time for the company. He joins an expanding sales operation in the UK and his experience of the turf industry will certainly add strength to our territory management team. I am delighted to welcome him on board and I'm sure that he will be a valuable asset as we continue to aggressively grow the business in the UK and Ireland."
