Quickstart Sports and Fairway, Headland's new range of fertilisers for outfields, fairways and sports pitches can be applied at less than half the application rates of current market alternatives.

Two high nutrient formulations 21-5-10+3MgO+Micronutrients and 12+12+17+2MgO+Micronutrients mean that Quickstart provides the same amount of nitrogen applied at 15grams per sq metre, as a conventional 9-7-7 fairway fertiliser at 35 grams per sq metre.

The two forms of nitrogen used - ammonium and nitrate- achieve a quick response, particularly at low soil temperatures, and the small, homogeneous granules, with an average size of 2mm allow the product to be applied through either a pedestrian or tractor mounted spreader and evenly distributed. On contact with moisture the granules rapidly breakdown and disperse into the sward.

Potassium is present in its superior, sulphate form minimising the risk of scorch, and storage, handling and disposal problems are halved due to the product's low application rates.
