Melton Mowbray Golf Club in Leicestershire has taken delivery of a new fleet of turf maintenance equipment from their local RANSOMES JACOBSEN dealer Platts Harris of Tuxford.
The new fleet of mainly Jacobsen machines has a retail value in excess of £180,000 and includes two of the latest AR5 fine cut rotary mowers for semi and short rough, a Fairway 305, two green mowers - a G-Plex III and Greens King IV, a Tri-King tees and surrounds mower and an Iseki SXG compact ride-on mower for maintaining areas in between stands of trees.
Commenting on the new equipment, Club Captain Mick Curtis said,
"We have made a significant investment here at Melton Mowbray, supporting our Head Greenkeeper Alan Tales and his team by providing them with the best tools to do their job effectively. In a short time, we have already seen a significant improvement in the course and that can only be a benefit to members, prospective members and society visitors."
Alan Tales added, "The Jacobsen AR5 is a great machine; it's powerful, follows the contours really well and leaves a very good finish. It has been great for presentation and our members have definitely noticed the improvement. We have many spinneys and wooded areas around the course and the small Iseki tractor with its 48" deck is great for getting in amongst them."
About Melton Mowbray Golf Club
Melton Mowbray Golf Club was formed in 1925 and is situated just a mile from the centre of the historic market town, famous for its Stilton cheese and traditional pork pies. Originally a nine-hole course, it was extended to 18-holes in 1991 and is parkland in nature with many tree lined fairways. The club has an extensive practice area, a seven-bay driving range and a very successful junior section.
