Mid Herts 1Mid-Herts Golf Club has recently renewed its three-year exclusivity agreement with Toro distributor Lely UK.

The heathland club in St Albans, Hertfordshire, has long relied on its Toro mowers to keep its 18-hole course in prime condition. As well as their reliability and performance, the club has found Toro machines to be of better value than competitors' models, as course manager Jody Wilson explains. "Toro offered us an excellent deal - we didn't hesitate in re-signing with them due to the quality of the machines and the price."

Having used the company's equipment for the last 13 years, Jody knew from experience what great machinery Toro is and, consequently, has significantly built up his Toro fleet since his arrival at Mid-Herts Golf Club five years ago. "When I started at the club there was only one piece of Toro machinery," he continues, "but now there is only one piece which isn't Toro!"

Mid Herts 2The club relies heavily on its three Greensmaster 3250-D riding and Greensmaster 1000 pedestrian mowers, which Jody describes as "excellent" machines. "The team love them as they allow us to achieve a great playing service for our members and guests," he adds. Another stand-out is his Reelmaster 3100-D Sidewinder: "It's a first-rate piece of kit, helping us to maintain the semi-roughs to a high standard while reducing fly-mowing hours."

Jody's also recently ordered a Reelmaster 5410-D mower, plus has a Toro Workman utility vehicle with sprayer.

In addition, Mid-Herts Golf Club has invested in an optional Power Groomer Brush attachment to improve the appearance of the greens. "We were one of the first clubs to acquire the brush and we've since found we don't have to drag-brush so often, thanks to the effectiveness and efficiency of the product. The mowers fitted with DPA cutting units also allow us to keep the greens at the exact height of cut we want, plus they're lightweight and great value for money," Jody reveals.

"Mid Herts 4We invest in Toro machinery because it works well for us - it's reliable, comfortable and easy to use, does an excellent job and is at a good price."
