'Mowing in May' Platts Harris host successful open day.
By Peter Driver
Platts Harris Ltd, the Ransomes Jacobsen grounds care dealer based in Tuxford, Nottinghamshire, hosted a 'Mowing in May' Open Day at Rufford Park Golf Centre near Newark recently.
Over 40 customers from the golf and local authority sectors in the area attended and were able to view the latest range of professional grass and grounds care machinery from Ransomes Jacobsen, New Holland and other manufacturers.
Visitors also had the opportunity to test some of the equipment in a special ride and drive display area and see the recently launched Ransomes Spider, remote controlled slope mower in action.
A hot buffet at lunchtime proved very popular and the golf competition, played over 9 holes, was won by David Mitchell of Springwater Golf Club, who received a superb trophy, which he assured would be displayed in the trophy cabinet at his club!
Commenting at the end of a successful event, Alan Fores, Groundscare Area Sales Manager at Platts Harris said,
"It was a great day for everyone concerned; from our viewpoint we were able to cement relationships with existing clients and also meet with prospective customers in a convivial atmosphere. The ride and drive proved popular and the Spider certainly drew a crowd. Our guests learned a bit more about our product offering and also enjoyed the golf tournament. All in all, a very successful day."
Platts Harris Ltd was awarded the Ransomes Jacobsen franchise in August last year and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Lookers Plc, a major player in the motor trade with many prestige vehicle dealerships throughout the UK.
