Limagrain UK has introduced a new amenity grass seed mixture for sports pitch recovery called MM 75R which can be oversown in winter and spring to give fast repair of worn and damaged pitches. It's also ideal for divot repair on racecourses.
The MM 75R seed mixture contains the variety Matrix which germinates and grows at lower temperatures than other grasses, providing groundsmen with an opportunity to restore ground cover on pitches and racecourses, in the early part of the year.
MM 75R has already been trialled on selected sports grounds in the UK, including Tottenham Hotspur Football Club's White Hart Lane pitch. Darren Baldwin, grounds manager said: "We tested MM 75R last winter - its germination, establishment and fast ground cover was impressive and helped give good grass coverage for the remainder of the season across the whole of the pitch."
Limagrain's Matt Gresty said: "The MM 75R amenity mixture has been developed by Limagrain specifically for the UK. Now, following trials here and in Europe, it is also being launched in France, Belgium and Germany."
MM 75R is part of Limagrain's MM range and, as with the other grass mixtures, seed is treated with Headstart to provide rapid germination to achieve fast establishment and ground cover.
More information on MM 75R, and the comprehensive MM range of amenity grass seed mixtures including popular winter sports mixtures MM 25 and MM 60, can be found in the new 2012 MM catalogue available from Limagrain UK. To obtain a copy, groundsmen can call Limagrain UK on 01472 371471 or download it from www.limagrain.co.uk/amenity.
