Following the completion of another successful Essential Management Skills course at Leicester Tigers RFC back in February, we're pleased to announce three new course dates for later this year.

They are:

30 Oct/5 Feb St Albans School,
13 Nov/12 Feb Lancashire County Cricket Club
04 Dec/19 Feb Gloucester Rugby Club

The course is delivered by trainer and careers counsellor Frank Newberry. Frank, a regular contributor to the Pitchcare magazine, has trained groundsmen and greenkeepers for more than 15 years and the course is aimed at helping those in a supervisory or management position to acquire a range of vital management skills and put them into practice effectively.

Unlike generic management training, Pitchcare's course content has been developed specifically to suit groundsmen and greenkeepers, which is essential if delegates are to successfully implement their new skills in the workplace.

Here's some of the feedback we received from delegates on the last course:

Inspirational - a great learning experience, a must to go to - Andrew Whittaker, Head Greenkeeper, The Grove Golf Resort Hotel, Hertfordshire

Structured to individual needs; flows well and keeps good, active participation - Russell King, Groundsman, Belvedere Property Management

Very useful - a management "must do" - Steve Harris, Grounds Manager, Uppingham School, Rutland

Very informative, learned a lot and improved my skills - Wayne Lumbard, Head Groundsman, Wolverhampton Wanderers FC

Excellent, would thoroughly recommend it - Neil Dixon, Grounds Manager, St Paul's School, Barnes, London

Excellent, provided me with good tools to deal with staff - Richard Mussett, Deputy Grounds Manager, Haberdashers' Aske's Boys' School, Hertfordshire

Well run, very informative, good instruction - Allan Moore, Grounds Manager, Jesus College, Cambridge

Excellent, enjoyed the 2 days with the gap in between - Jacob Snyman, Grounds Manager, Radley College

Three months separate the two days so delegates have the opportunity to implement new techniques and then feed their experiences back to the group.

Five CPD Credits*, plus an attendance certificate, are awarded to delegates who complete the course. Delegates can also opt to attend an additional Day 3 Health & Safety workshop at a later date.

The cost for two full days of quality training plus comprehensive workbooks, lunch and all refreshments is £345+VAT.

For further information, please contact Pitchcare's Training Coordinator Christine Johnson at chris@pitchcare.com or call the Pitchcare office on 01902 824382.

* Continuing Professional Development Credits awarded by BIGGA (The British and International Golf Greenkeepers Association)
