Ransomes Jacobsen's dealer for Scotland, Fairways GM, has recently supplied new equipment to Alford Golf Club in Aberdeenshire. Ransomes Jacobsen is a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company.

Surrounded by the hills of Donside with the Bennachie range dominating, the parkland course at Alford was opened as a 9-hole course in 1982 and extended to 18 holes in 1992. A new, modern clubhouse offering full facilities was opened in 1994.

John Morton is head greenkeeper and has a team of three to manage the 5483 yard, par 69 course. This year is the club's 25th anniversary and he has added several items of equipment from the Jacobsen brand including a Tri-King tees and surrounds mower, a G-Plex III greens mower, an LF3800 light fairway mower, an AR250 semi-rough mower and 522 walk-behind greens mower.

"We have a celebration match planned to mark our 25th anniversary and the new equipment will certainly help enhance the presentation of the course," John said. "I've a 10-year association with the Ransomes Jacobsen product range and run a significant fleet of their equipment. The Tri-King is an excellent mower with high visibility of the front units, crucial when mowing around bunker edges. The G-Plex III is now a first class riding greens mower and with its unique swing-out centre unit is easy to set up and maintain. Add to this the excellent service from Fairways and we have a package of product and service that really suits our needs."

Ransomes Jacobsen is a subsidiary of Textron Inc., an $11 billion multi-industry company operating in 32 countries with approximately 40,000 employees. The company leverages its global network of aircraft, industrial and finance businesses to provide customers with innovative solutions and services. Textron is known around the world for its powerful brands such as Bell Helicopter, Cessna Aircraft, Jacobsen, Kautex, Lycoming, E-Z-GO, Greenlee, Fluid & Power, Textron Systems and Textron Financial Corporation.
