New Jacobsen Greens Mowers ensure better is the name of the game at Honiton Golf Club

By Peter Driver

Nearly 40,000 rounds a year at Honiton Golf Club and the course keeps on looking better! That is a tribute to head greenkeeper John Barden and his dedicated team. It's also a direct result of Honiton's ongoing investment in equipment from Ransomes Jacobsen, a Textron Inc (NYSE: TXT) company.

For 2006 they have acquired two more Jacobsen Greens King VI greens mowers, one fitted with groomers, to complement their substantial machinery fleet. They have also added a Jacobsen AR250 rotary mower to provide high output maintenance of the rough and semi-rough.

John Barden commented,
"The AR250 has ample power and traction to cope with banks and other sloping surfaces. These are all attributes which make it ideal for the combination of efficiency and high quality presentation we always strive for here at Honiton."

In addition they have purchased a Cushman Turf Truckster to provide rapid, commercial transportation of equipment and personnel around the lovely 5,900 yard parkland course. "Once again we have chosen Ransomes Jacobsen and
PJ Flegg as our business partners." says John, "it is the combination of specialist, quality products, expert advice and an unfailing commitment to customer service which sets them apart."

Ransomes Jacobsen is a subsidiary of Textron Inc., a $10 billion multi-industry company operating in 33 countries with approximately 37,000 employees in continuing operations. The company leverages its global network of aircraft, industrial and finance businesses to provide customers with innovative solutions and services. Textron is known around the world for its powerful brands such as Bell Helicopter, Cessna Aircraft, Jacobsen, Kautex, Lycoming, E-Z-GO and Greenlee, among others. More information is available at www.textron.com.
