Slinfold Golf and Country Club, situated adjacent to the A29, just 14 miles west of Horsham, West Sussex has taken delivery of new golf course maintenance equipment from local Ransomes Jacobsen dealer, Harper and Eede of Albourne.
The new Jacobsen equipment to be used by Marc Raisbeck and his team at Slinfold comprises of two Eclipse 332 hybrid riding greens mowers, a Fairway 305 and an HR6010 wide area rotary mower for the semi and rough.
Dominic Eagle is Operations Director of the Country Club Group, owners and operators of Slinfold as well as Cranleigh Golf & Country Club, Mill Ride Golf & Country Club and Mid Sussex Golf & Country Club. The group also has a management contract with Rookwood Golf Course, a public pay and play course near Horsham.
Commenting at handover of the new mini-fleet he said,"Having acquired the current portfolio of golf clubs over the last ten years, the company undertook a strategic review of the business in July 2007 and joined forces with Charlie Parker, former CEO of The Club Company, with the specific aim of diversifying our golf-only product range to encompass premium-end health and fitness facilities.
"We recently completed £ multi-million improvements at Slinfold and Cranleigh and the investment in this course maintenance equipment here is proof of our commitment to provide golfing facilities of the highest order for our members.
"We originally looked at the Jacobsen G-Plex as a possible greens mower, but a consultant enthused about the Eclipse and the consistency of cut from the new technology used. Marc Raisbeck, our course manager here had a demonstration of the machine and was significantly impressed to advise that we purchase two. To be able to ensure consistency across all greens is a great feature as well as the reduced noise levels from the smaller engine. From a management standpoint we're expecting good residuals, not only from the Eclipse, but also the other equipment we've purchased."
