New TORO kit makes a superb finish at Bridlington Links

By Lucy Ohsten

Bridlington Links Golf Club, in East Yorkshire, has invested in a comprehensive range of Toro turf machinery valued at £180K for its 18- and nine-hole courses.

The picturesque site at Bridlington also boasts a 20-bay driving range, new Pro shop and work is in progress to add 43 log cabins and a hotel with leisure complex.

Owner Phil Hancock says: "I'm delighted with the new Toro equipment, and I already have a few favourites among the fleet. The Reelmaster 6700-D seven-reel mower is a marvellous big beast. We used a five-reel before, which couldn't cope with cutting the fairways twice a week. Also, we are very pleased with the Groundsmaster 4700-D rotary machine for semi-roughs.

"It's completely changed the look of the course and brought some consistency to the finish," adds Phil. "And the Sidewinders are fantastic for bunker edges, gradients and wooded areas. Superb manoeuvrability."

Service and back-up is provided by local dealer K&M Mowers.

Toro commercial turf maintenance products are distributed throughout mainland UK by Lely (UK) Limited, St Neots, Cambridgeshire (tel: 01480 226800), and in all of Ireland by Lely Ireland Limited, Kilboggin, Nurney, Co. Kildare (tel: 00 353 (0)45 526170).
