John Deere's new 7200 PrecisionCut trim & surrounds mower features, for the first time on a triplex cylinder machine, the same patented 'Width on Demand' cutting system introduced on the company's 7400 rotary mower in 2008.
Designed to maximise driver comfort and ease of use, as well as increase productivity without sacrificing quality of cut, this new 25hp Yanmar diesel engined mower allows the operator to change cutting width on the move at the touch of a switch, without the need for tools or additional parts.
Available with the new QA7 (Quick Adjust 7in) cutting units (see separate release), the 7200 enables operators to select a cutting width of 1.72 or 1.82m (68 or 72in) when equipped with 66cm (26in) units, and 2.03 or 2.13m (80 or 84in) with the 76cm (30in) units fitted.
In the narrower position, the cutting units overlap to ensure accuracy on slopes and tight turns. The wider position is ideal for larger grass areas, so that more turf can be covered in fewer passes.
The 7200 also offers the John Deere Reach System, which enables operators to shift either the front right- or left-hand decks a maximum of 38cm (15in) outside the front tyres. This allows safe trimming around bunkers, landscape features and other hazards while keeping the mower's centre of gravity in a more consistent and stable position.
In addition, the mower is equipped with John Deere's exclusive GRIP all-wheel drive traction system. This is a true hydraulic system that is engaged at all times when mowing, to minimise wheel slip and provide maximum traction when it's needed most, particularly on slopes.
Further standard features include the established CommandArm control console, which moves with the adjustable seat, plus Sit-on-Seat (SoS) diagnostics and a patented White Box™ controller to enable operators and technicians to quickly identify any electrical or other service issues.
