Andy Peirson has been appointed Kent Cricket Club's new Ground Co-ordinator.

The former Head Groundsman at Beckenham will now look after both the north Kent and Canterbury's St Lawrence grounds.

As a result of the appointment, Mike Grantham will be leaving his position as St Lawrence Head Groundsman.

An extensive review of Kent Cricket Club operations has led to eight people leaving their posts.

Commenting on the changes, Paul Millman, Chief Executive, said: "The last 12 months have proved extremely challenging for the club given the uncertainty in the economy and the unforeseen delays associated with our development plans at the St Lawrence Ground. It has been necessary for us to take a long hard look at every aspect of our operation."

Andy i wish you the very best and i feel for you Mike. What hope for 2009 ?
It would appear that a career in first class cricket might not be worth persuing any more.
Who is going to be the next one ?
Can anybody please explain this exodus of top cricket men ?
