Charterhouse Turf Machinery Managing Director Philip Threadgold is to step down from the day to day management of Charterhouse Turf Machinery from 31st March 2008.
Philip, a founder of Charterhouse Turf Machinery some 26 years ago, has been managing director since 2002.
Throughout that time Charterhouse has been handling Redexim's range of professional products which has gone from strength to strength, with the name of its flagship, product the Verti-Drain, passing into the English language as a term to describe deep aerators. Ongoing product developments have seen a broadening range of seeders, top dressers, cleaning equipment with the completely new line up of synthetic turf maintenance machinery launched in the last two years.
In tandem, the Charterhouse Richmond subsidiary has developed to provide a one stop shop for forestry products, with an online mail order service to meet all needs.
Soil Harmony is Philip's most recent initiative, capturing a growing interest in biodynamic nutrition. A tailored service provides soil analysis, nutritional advice and natural fertiliser products which have already produced convincing results, across the whole sports turf industry.
Philip plans to remain in the industry and will retain an important role as an ongoing advisor to Charterhouse Turf Machinery, with a special focus on the development of Soil Harmony.
Overall management and control of Charterhouse Turf Machinery will be passed to Geoffrey Burgess, Director, representing the main board of Redexim, which owns the company. Nick Darking remains in charge of sales working in the south of the UK and Wales whilst Richard Heywood looks after the North of England and Scotland with full parts and service back up from the Charterhouse team in Haslemere.
