Following the development of its Grit Stone Salt, Dandy's of Chester and its partner's site www.pitchcare.com are the only companies which have consistently supplied the nation's retail and commercial sectors as well as the general public with high quality de-icing grit salt throughout the country's worst snow in 18 years.
This new product was developed in-house by Dandy's Topsoil and has proved to be extremely successful, particularly as supplies of traditional rock salt have been very limited and, in some areas, have run out completely.
Customers including hospitals, train operating companies and The Highways Agency ha
ve ordered online on using Dandy's dedicated grit salt website www.gritsalt.co.uk and the Pitchcare website www.pitchcare.com.
Dandy's and Pitchcare customers have received their much needed orders ready for use the next working day.
A BBC news broadcast announced on Wednesday evening that Dandy's Topsoil, based in Chester, was the only company in the country who still had stocks of grit salt left to sell to businesses and the general public.
With hundreds of tonnes in stock, Dandy's Topsoil and Pitchcare are likely to be supplying their new Grit Stone Salt well into the end of next week as another bad bout of snow and ice closes in. Grit stone salt is available tipped loose, in bulk bags and in 25kg bags.
Dandy's owner, Adam Dandy, commented: "The past week has been the busiest week our company has ever seen. In the past five days we have sent out over 6,000 twenty five Kg sealed bags, 1,100 bulk bags and over 2,200 tonnes in bulk of our grit salt. Our Grit Stone Salt gives much higher levels of grip than normal rock salt, but best of all we have plenty of it and we can deliver it anywhere in the UK on a sameday or next day delivery service.
We are delighted to have Pitchcare as our partner supplier. They have an extensive knowledge of the market and are geared up to deal with the volume of enquiries and orders."
Orders can be made online or call 01902 440250 for telephone enquiries and orders.
