Hartlepool are confident that their League One home match against Oldham on New Year's Day will go ahead.
Sub-zero conditions have caused United to twice cancel their FA Cup clash with Yeovil, which was eventually played on December 14, and postpone home league matches against Southampton, Charlton and Leyton Orient.
However, after a concerted effort by the Pools groundstaff and youth team as well as warming temperatures the Victoria Park pitch should be ready to host the Latics.
Hartlepool`s head groundsman Dave Brown told the club's official website: "The pitch looks a lot better than I thought it would given the amount of time the covers have been down.
