Radical new stress busters from Headland
By Carol Dutton
Headland introduced two revolutionary liquids at BTME.
TURFITE, the first formulation to incorporate Phosphite, which is a soluble form of phosphorous mobile within the plant, and TURFCOMPLEX, a Bio stimulant that combines seaweed with humic acid.
The combined effects of Algifol, within Turfcomplex (a concentrated extract of brown algae which is dried during a low temperature process), and activated humic and fulvic acids, not only improve root mass but also stimulate anti oxidant production, thus relieving stress. Turfite's stress relieving qualities include the product's ability to trigger the plant's immune system and aid the energy conversion process.
Both new liquids can be tank mixed with existing Headland products, but they have different applications. Turfite, due to its ability to trigger the immune system, is at its most useful during periods of high disease pressure in autumn, winter and spring. As an available form of Phosphorous, the product is also ideal for use during over-seeding, to stimulate new root development. Combined with the company's Multi-K, (soluble potassium nitrate) and/or Seamac Proturf, Turfite provides the perfect low temperature tonic.
Turfcomplex, which has been formulated as a root drench, also for use in spring and autumn, has a second application as a foliar feed during the summer. In this case, the product can be tank mixed with a wide range of Headland's liquid and water-soluble fertilisers.
Application rates for both products are 20 - 40 litres per hectare.
For further information on either Turfite or Turfcomplex, contact Headland Amenity on Tel: 01223 597834.
