James Gilbert has been appointed Commercial Manager at Ransomes Jacobsen, one of the leading turf maintenance equipment manufacturers, based at Ipswich in Suffolk. Ransomes Jacobsen is a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company.

In this new role, he will be responsible for all the commercial aspects of the Ransomes Jacobsen business including the dealer development programme, market and segmentation analysis, pricing and contracts. He will also assist the field sales teams with commercial issues applicable to the dealer and distributor network. He will report directly to Alan Prickett, Sales Director.

James is new to the turf care industry having spent the majority of his career working in the financial services industry in the field of management information and business/performance analysis.

He is married to Sharon, has two children Adam and Lucy, and lives in Claydon on the outskirts of Ipswich.

Commenting on the appointment, Alan Prickett said, "We welcome James to the business and I'm sure he'll prove to be a real asset to the management team. Going forward, we are strengthening the team at every opportunity and his appointment adds further professionalism to the unit."
