Ransomes jacobsen, the Ipswich based turf equipment manufacturer, recently brought together over 40 Parts and Service Managers from dealers across Europe at their second Customer Care Conference held at the premises of Belgian distributor, Firma Thomas.

The conference provided the opportunity to promote best practice from across the group, discussing such topics as dealer development, marketing and training as well as enhancing the communications channels within the Ransomes Jacobsen network.

At the inaugural meeting in 2007, the dealers and distributors agreed that an annual meeting was required and the impressive premises of Firma Thomas, based in Merchtem, 10 km north of Brussels, provided the perfect venue for this second event.

The conference was hosted by Stephen Mitchell, Ransomes Jacobsen's Customer Care Director, who said, "Throughout the two days together we were able to discuss, in small focus groups, the opportunities and issues that affect our businesses. It provided the perfect platform for an informed debate. Our Technical Director, Tim Lansdell, was present to provide an insight into future product development and guest speaker Alan Ferguson, the Grounds Manager at Ipswich Town Football Club, highlighted the various aspects of his job and the value that teamwork plays in a successful business.

"The premises at Firma Thomas are very impressive and it was the ideal location for the event. Frank Thomas and his staff were superb and the feedback from the delegates was excellent; a very successful event."

Monica Johansson of Swedish distributor Svenningsens added, "This was a very good conference, well managed with a lot of preparation to ensure that we got the full benefit from our two days in Belgium. With our peer group we were able to exchange best practice ideas for maximising the effect we have within our own individual businesses, while also adding benefit to the Ransomes Jacobsen organisation. It was really enjoyable."
