Three more Ransomes Jacobsen staff have gained Six Sigma Green Belt status and were presented with their belts and certificates by Managing Director David Withers recently.

Brian George, International Financial Director together with Eddie Muller, Purchasing Lead and Darren Bantick, Warranty Manager - who both work in the company's Customer Care division - received their awards at a recent lunch hosted by Richard Comely, one of the company's Six Sigma Black Belts.

The Textron Six Sigma programme is a management process which is employed across the entire Textron organisation providing a common set of tools and techniques that are rigorously applied to eliminate waste, reduce variation, and fuel growth and innovation.

Brian completed two projects, one to maximise sales margins on whole goods and the other to reduce the documentation in monthly financial reports to senior management. Eddie completed a successful project to reduce the value of rejected parts and components from third party suppliers, while Darren eliminated warranty claims relative to two specific items on our machines. In total these projects have saved a total in excess of £700,000 per annum.

Commenting at the presentation of the certificates Richard Comely said, "Brian, Eddie and Darren are the latest candidates to qualify at this level, bringing the total number of Ransomes Jacobsen Green Belt staff to 23.

"The savings they have achieved across the business are particularly impressive and really demonstrate the benefits of the Six Sigma process. This long term training programme will help us towards our goal of becoming a world class organisation."
