Fairways (GM) Ltd, Ransomes Jacobsen's grounds care dealer for Scotland, has signed an agreement with Newmachar Golf Club to sponsor the Club's Pro-AM tournament, which is one of the largest event of its kind in the north of Scotland. Ransomes Jacobsen is a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company.

To be known as 'The Fairways Pro-Am supported by Golf Finance', the competition will be held on Friday 13th July with up to 40 teams, consisting of three amateurs and one professional, competing for the trophy and prize fund of £6,000. The competition has grown in stature since it was introduced some 17 years ago, by the then sponsors, McIntosh Plant Hire.

Sam Wade, General Manager at the Club said,
"We are absolutely delighted that Fairways GM has agreed to sponsor our premier competition. They are a respected grounds care dealer distributing quality golf course maintenance equipment across Scotland from their head office in Renfrewshire and two major depots in Fife and Aberdeenshire.

"They have signed for five years which will enable us to take the competition forward to ensure that it retains its premier position in the golfing calendar in this part of Scotland."

Wilson Morrison, Regional Sales Manager for Fairways added,
"We are also delighted to be associated with this tournament and look forward to a long association with the Club. Newmachar has two great courses and is an admirable venue for this event and one that we are thrilled to support."

Fairways GM Ltd is a subsidiary company of the Fairways Group Ltd, an established, family-owned business based at West Yonderton close to Glasgow airport, operating diverse, yet complementary companies in the sports amenity sector.

Ransomes Jacobsen is a subsidiary of Textron Inc., an $11 billion multi-industry company operating in 32 countries with approximately 40,000 employees. The company leverages its global network of aircraft, industrial and finance businesses to provide customers with innovative solutions and services. Textron is known around the world for its powerful brands such as Bell Helicopter, Cessna Aircraft Company, Jacobsen, Kautex, Lycoming, E-Z-GO, Greenlee, Fluid & Power, Textron Systems and Textron Financial Corporation.
