Rotherham GC1Rotherham Golf Club in south Yorkshire has become the latest course to upgrade to a top-performing Toro turf machinery fleet.

Dave Chappell, course manager of the historic 18-hole course, says that the club is reaping the benefits of buying the best in the business in spite of the machines being at the top end of their budget.

"Yes, Toro machines are a bit pricier, but we chose them because of their quality of build, their value for money in the long-term and the back-up," Dave reveals. "We're fortunate that our finance director, Neil Bradburne, is on the greens committee, so he knew what we needed to do a good job and supported the investment from the start."

The club has taken delivery of a six-strong fleet of new Toro mowers from local dealer, Yorkshire Turf Machinery, including a Greensmaster 3250-D, two Reelmaster 3100-Ds and three Greensmaster 1000s. The deal also includes a Yanmar tractor.

"The performance of the mowers is very good," Dave adds. "The Reelmasters are fitted with DPA cutting units, which have really improved our quality of cut. In fact, the course aesthetics have never looked so good. The back-up from Yorkshire Turf Machinery, and Toro and Lely is also excellent - I can't fault it. We're very happy."

Toro Commercial products are distributed throughout mainland UK by Lely UK Limited, 1 Station Road, St Neots PE19 1QH. Call 01480 226800, email toro.info.uk@lely.com or visit www.toro.com / www.lely.com for further details.
